About this tool
"Where am I?" is the simplest question a traveller, driver or lost hiker asks. When you tap the button above, your browser reads your GPS, Wi-Fi and cell-tower data to compute a latitude and longitude pair, together with an accuracy circle measured in meters. We drop a pin on OpenStreetMap and hand you a one-tap "Open in Google Maps" link so you can share where you are with a friend in seconds.
Your privacy
Your location never leaves your browser. The map tiles come from OpenStreetMap and the coordinates are rendered client-side — we do not store them on our servers.
Frequently asked questions
Why is the accuracy so wide?
If you are indoors or using a desktop without GPS, the browser falls back to Wi-Fi triangulation which is less accurate. Step outside or enable GPS on your phone for a tighter fix.
How do I share my location?
Tap "Share my location" — on phones the system share sheet opens. On desktops, the maps link is copied to your clipboard so you can paste it into any chat app.
